From the moment we met Jenny, we knew she was meant to be our doula. My boyfriend and I instantly connected with her and felt as if we had known her our entire lives. Jenny’s compassion for natural birth and the well being of mom and baby is very evident. Even though the birth of my baby boy didn’t go as I had planned it in my mind, Jenny was there with us every step of the way. Her encouraging words and kind spirit made her a staple in my birth experience and as I reflect back on my journey I couldn’t imagine her not being there and not being a part of that experience. After a grueling and tiring 48 hours of labor, my contractions weren’t progressing and I had to be induced and started on pitocin (something I did not want). I fought through the pitocin contractions for almost 4 hrs with the help of Jenny and my boyfriend. And when I decided that I could no longer handle the SUPER intense contractions that pitocin cause, Jenny reassured me that it was ok if I wanted to get an epidural and she made me feel good about all the work had done thus far. In that moment when I was most down on myself and felt like I was giving up because I wanted an epidural, she comforted me. She told me I just needed to rest and so that’s what I did. Another great thing about Jenny is that she is also a photographer. She did my maternity pics as well as labor and delivery pics in the hospital. I could not imagine my birth story without Jenny and I would definitely recommend her to anyone searching for a doula for their birth experience. -A. Chambers 1/26/12
Jenny truly helped make labor a wonderful experience! My husband was not familiar with what a doula was and he was very happily surprised at how much he appreciated having her there during my labor. I really wanted to have a natural childbirth and she made that possible for me. She is so supportive and knowledgeable, but not pushy! I could not have done it without her and I am so grateful to her for empowering me as a women and doing what my body was meant to do. working with jenny fisher was a gift!!! the smile and warmth she brought to our delivery room was like a ray of sunshine. jenny offered the appropriate amount of support to me and my husband during our labor and delivery. jenny has an impressive knowledge base, great sense of humor and is a gifted photographer. the photos are ones that we will be treasure forever.
jenny also provided a postpartum visit which was a special time to talk about the amazing labor and delivery moments. jenny also offered helpful newborn care tips and techniques. she’s a gem!
